Beach Trip to Nags Head

Over Ryan's spring break we rented a beach house with some friends from school. It was in the off season so it wasn't quite beach weather, but we still had a great time! This is Ryan in the waters of Okracoke Island. You have to take a 40 min ferry ride to and from the island. We were too late for 5:00 ride back to Hatteras so we had another hour to play on the beach until the ferry came back at 6:00.

Even pregnant ladies can frolic. "I'm a pony!! I'm a pony!!"
We went to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, but they wouldn't let us go inside. Did you know they moved this lighthouse from the shore line in the 90's? It's the tallest building ever to be moved...or maybe I made that up...

Ryan braved the freezing waters in a very Bay Watch-esque manner.

We made a beautiful sand mermaid complete with seashell bra and disturbingly broad grin.

I decided it would be a good idea to hang out with the locals while we were at the beach. Old Blackbeard didn't seem too happy to have his picture taken.

That's Ryan taking on the Red Baron at Jockey's Ridge. It is very windy up there, but Ryan was able to keep the kamikaze kite in the air for most of the day, despite its best efforts to dive bomb the dunes.

Me around 6 months pregnant

Ryan and I suprised the family on Christmas Eve. I was supposed to work on Christmas but instead got to leave early on the 24th and got off on Christmas. It was great to be home!

My dad and a little Christmas elf.

At the NC Botanical Gardens you can play life-sized chess. Woo Hoo!!

This is the recliner/rocker we got for my B-day, but mostly for rocking the baby.

Here you can see the wonderful chocolate cake Ryan made for my B-day (several people have said it was the best chocolate cake they ever tasted, I agree).

We went to Carrabas for my birthday, it was quite delicious and filled my craving. Now all I need is Red Robin's chocolate milkshake!
Howdy all. I've decided to finally start a blog, it will be an easy way for people to see pictures. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out how to get this all together. Anyway, life is going well. I'm feeling big and pregnant and have about 8 weeks left. Ryan's staying busy with school but we still have time to hang out and have fun. We're trying to go out and do things before we become home bound with a new little one. I'm going to attempt to put up some pictures of what we've been up to lately.
